By default, when you make changes to a table using the SQL Management Studio GUI, it doesn’t allow to save the changes and it prompts you to save a test file. On the other hand if you make the same change using T-SQL commands you have no problems.
To remove this prohibition you must go to Tools and then click Options, at the SQL management studio menu bar. At the options window go to Designers and uncheck “prevent saving changes that require table re-creation” option and click OK
